It's only called New Atheism because for the first time we are prepared to fight back against theocracy.

Since the Corporation Hobby Lobby is a "Person" that objects to birth control as a religious person should 'he' be allowed to limit 'his' employees to 'only' the religious doctrine 'he' submits to.  I'd say yes according the the Supremes ruling about the refusal to provide birth control case.  In that case to continue they can refuse to hire a man who had a vasectomy, or a woman who had tubal ligation. Further depending on the religion the religious person who is Hobby Lobby should refuse jobs to divorced people, or unmarried couples living together.  To make sure the employees abide by the religious restrictions that Hobby Lobby has Hobby Lobby should check on employees to make sure there is only one toothbrush in the bathroom (as was done to women  with a child under welfare/food stamps by many state governments).   The possibilities are endless.

look at the question presented to Chris Hedges at time 32.23

Um Aa. Stumbles over the answer. then leaps on to another baseless diatribe about "New Atheists" bla bla people who don't believe in sin. I'm extrapolating from that  that (thet) Hedges with his upraising as a religious person thinks atheists have no morals.

Chris Hedges on New Atheism, the God Debate, Science and Religion, and Self-Delusion (2008)Chris Hedges Author, "I Don't Believe in Atheists" He talks about what he calls "New Atheists." I don't know what that means. Atheism has been around since the begining of humanity. The Enlightment was a reaction towards the various church doctrines that controlled politics. What are new atheists. I could go onto a diatribe with terms such as anti-fascists. People who demonstrate against racists aren't anti fascists they are anti racists. I wonder how many people know that fascism is when corporations control the government. Welcome to America. Hedges's comment about Sam Harris is weak. Semites by definition is people who's background if from the Middle East, not only Jewish people, or Christians, but also Muslims. Abrhamics. I tend to like the way Chris Hedges thinks. In this lecture I think he missed the point. Christopher Hitchens also said something to the effect that fundamental Islamist's should be crushed. The underlying thought of his point may be lost on others because he also thought fundamentalist chistians should also be crushed.

I'm extrapolating that Chris Hedges means "New Atheism" are people who speak their opinion. Therefore "Old Atheists" kept their views to themselves so they wouldn't be figuratively drawn and quartered.

I used to work in a cow town where dominionist christians were supreme. I didn't express myself as an atheist. The problem there was I didn't express myself as a dominionist therefore I was shunned to the point that creative attempts were used to fire me/let me go/ get me out of the workplace through numerous manipulation they were able to come up with. It was effective. I ended up going out on a medical retirement because of a work related injury that blew my cochleas out.  Had I been given light duty the tear in my cochleas likely would have healed.

I hate dominionists and speak out about it. Does that make me a "New Atheist?".  I've been an atheist my entire life it wasn't a problem until I worked at a place where prayers for "Our Lowered Jesus Christ" were said at Thanksgiving and Christmas potlucks, that I stopped attending after sending the Commander an email requesting he put reigns on the prayers. He ignored my email. The  "In Lowered Jesus Christ" prayers continued. I didn't.

There was a 50th year celebration for the place I worked. The schedule included an opening and closing prayer from some sort of religious person.  What is the term for opening and closing prayers at meetings (I don't recall at the moment)?  I refused to attend. That got the roosters feathers ruffled and was work political suicide for me.

In a workplace especially for the federal government that type of culture shouldn't exist.  Unbelievably it does.
