Hi Andy,

Starry Night is good software.

I've been absent from searching the skys on my own telescope lately. It's  collecting dust.

People I knew built their own telescopes and there is an Astronomy club locally. I've been fighting light pollution.

The city I live in replaced the street lamps with LED's, but didn't put shrouds over them - though they are much better than they were. The Doccumentary "The City Dark" is worth worth watching.

You may enjoy watchin the documentary "Light Pollution"

Andy thanks for the heads up on the bookThe Stars" by H. A. Rey  you've made it sound fascinating. The sky over London, even on the best of nights isn't great, so a good book about the cosmos is always welcome. Thanks mate Stephen.

The heavens are astronomy.

Everyone should have a telescope to see it for themselves.

Hi Chris,

I'm not a political cartoonist. As a hobby, I just like to create art poking fun at religion on my website.

You were very fortunate to have escaped the full force of religious indoctrination, to which my mother subjected me as a child. While I appreciate that she thought it was in my best interest, I will never forgive her for it.

I will never forget the time she invited a Catholic Jesuit (they are elite branch of the RC church trained in philosophy and theology: aka "defender of the faith") to her home so he would "educate" me. I too was working on my degree in philosophy at the time and welcomed the dual.

What an asshole this priest was. Gulping my mother's scotch, he simply quoted verses from the Bible and proceeded to admonish my wonderful mother for "failing" to bring me up properly! She cried her eyes out. My poor mother. If only she could have appreciated the person she had as her son. Ah, religion. I just hate it.

A brief look at your web site: http://atheistcards.com

Why don't you pick on Easter more often?

One of the origins I heard about Easter is that the Bunny was chosen to represent the holiday is Arabs thought Rabits could see the before life because they were born with their eyes open.

Mythology is interesting to me. It's sickening that some see it as reality and others blindly follow the nonsense while dropping dollars in the collection plate as zeallots collect it to start religious wars, or promote anti-rational thought.

Hi Andy,

With the internet explosion  there is a 'new' way to look at information  that I find interesting.

I don't know much about graphic arts. I  read a couple of books Edward R Tufe wrote about envisioning information that I thought were interesting.

I tend to look at information from an engineering aspect rather than as an art. Some medical books that depict the anatomy are interesting.

I suppose some of these types of graphic arts go hand to hand - at least they should.

Creating logos if that's what you did must be difficult. The imagination to create an immage from your imaination that works and looks good on a page is truely an artform.

Hi Andy,

What did you teach before retiremnt?

Elementary, Junior high, High school, or Universidty?

Within that what subject?

A general educatioun teacher of humanities is most imoortant.

Some of my favoriate teachers taught me things generally about life that no one else could.

Teachers don't get the respect they diserve as they provide life lesssons and guidance to the students under their care.

People say "thanks for your service" to military veterans. I say Thanks for your service for being a teacher.

Hi Andy,

I'm sorry for my kurt replies.

A while ago someone suggested changing the image on the Occupy Together discussion from the U.S. to something depicting occupy as a global movement. I briefly searched using google image and didn't see one I thought would work within the frame. Seeing you're a graphic designer. I thought you may know of one already available.

I didn't expect you to become involved with the Occupy movement. That would be a major undertaking. I wasn't asking you to design one yorself.  As far as I can tell the creator of the discussion Ava Wilson hasn't contributed for a long time (2012). I sent her an email after our exchanges to see if she if she's still active. Sometimes people drop out of forums for a long time - if not forever.

I read and follow the information presented by the occupy movement, but am not involved other than posting information I come across to Occupy Together.

I'm a new volunteer moderator and am still learning, but am sure I can change the Occupy Together Logo.  Everything else would be kept the same including the creator.  Doing so may keep the discussion up to date without starting a new one.  No changes would be made without collaberation with the other moderators.

One of the originators of A/U is a graphic designer. He and others who started A/U may have burn out which is why I became a moderator.  One of best advantages, along with the great people here is that it's commercial free. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding and enjoy reading your posts.

Take Care,

Chris
