Have you noticed that in the English Premier League, players who score a goal often make a religious sign or gesture to god i.e. Pointing to the sky to give thanks to the sky god of there choice, but now its getting more overt when Muslim players get down on there knees after scoring. Surely it can be argued that these roll models are having a bad influence on young kids who follow them every weekend, and ive noticed young kids aping there idols on the pitch doing the same gestures after scoring a goal in there local park.
The coal plants and steel works were kept afloat by subsidies, and were bleeding rate payer dime. THe country was bankrupt, blaming thatcher for the pain caused by shutdowns is akin to blaming chemotherapy for the pain caused by cancer treatments.
It is probably a factor. Education is a major factor! When Finland started an ambitious education reform in the seventies, most Fins were religious. By now education in Finland ranks nr one in the world and atheism has grown exponentially! The fastest growth in the world!
Our perception will always be coloured by our environment. I live within a short walking distance of 4 churches and receive a lot of the kind of invitations that are delivered door-to-door. The last census cannot be trusted because it asks the wrong question; “What is your religion”. A poll asking “Do you belief in a God” returned 54% “No”, but it might not have been a representative sample.
I experienced widespread atheism in Scandinavia and a lot less in the UK, bar London. In Holland I lived in Amsterdam where the population is predominantly atheist, but in the rest of the country the demography is more similar to that I experience in the UK.
The Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden and Finland. The majority of Danes support the Danish church because of it's social relevance, but don't believe in God.

The opposite of reality. If we acted like individuals our species would not exist.

The conservative base has always done its best to destroy society.

Yes. There was. I live in the town that was the front line during WWII.
I am listening to your song Mad Dogs and English.
No need to ask for forgiveness, better being overly sensitive about issues like those rather than NOT sensitive! Cheers.
