We are a worldwide social network of freethinkers, atheists, agnostics and secular humanists.

What does it mean to have faith?

For me, when I was a believer, faith is accepting something as true without ever looking for evidence.

Once I looked for evidence and found none, I changed my mind.

Now, instead of faith, I would say that I have:
1. reasonable expectations of the way things are;
2. that are based on evidence, and;
3. reliable repetition of results (ie: trust that has been earned rather than given without thought);
4. all of which is granted tentatively (as it may prove to be incorrect in the future).

For me, the last dot point is the most important.
