We are a worldwide social network of freethinkers, atheists, agnostics and secular humanists.

Here's a few images for you to check out. What mighty city is this that needs such a show of force? Lansing MI, with a population of 114,000, is apparently under siege by the populace. At least one might think so looking at the following images. These are from today and there's not a protestor in site.

What might be the problem you ask? The usual conservative crap. In Michigan we have a conservative controlled legislature and governor, and it sucks. This show of force relates to current legislation, our friendly elected numb nuts are trying to make Michigan a right to work state. Destroying wages, benefits and unions so they can put a few more dollars in the hands of the rich. The only unions not effected is interesting enough, the police and firemen.

We now have a militarized force that is here to protect the rich, not the public.

Screw them. The fun begins tomorrow. I will be in the city at 8 am and join the march to the capital. There will be thousands of protestors, and we will gain entrance to the capital; it is ours.

Apparently one of the tents that went down was done from the inside. FOX news needed a video and got one. Union thugs is the words they want to spread.

Koch brothers helped finance the right to work assholes: Salon

Americans for prosperity jackals were throwing pennies at the crowd, telling them their labor wasn't worth anything. Right after that the tent was trampled down and things got a little rough. I wasn't there for that, wish I had been. Interesting tactics by the right, trolled the groups protesting online and had a few plants at the protest trying to create trouble.

They passed the legislation, Governor Snyder signed it, we are now a right to work state. The right controls the state legislature, getting rid of unions who consistently favor dems is a political maneuver. I have no clue yet what happens next. The number reached 15,000 to 18,000. Right wing Americans for Prosperity set up a tent on the lawn, that didn't last long; trampled to the ground. Mark Schauer, a one term representative from MI was there, he ended up getting gassed. Nice guy, the only rep in the country who stood up for my job at the time. About 2500 made it into the capital. All the dumb fuck conservatives were hiding; especially the gov.

The police have become more militaristic and violent. It's important to demonstrate. I'm glad you are standing up for our rights. How did it go? It looks like Michigan will continue being used as the area in the North to do away with Unions and worker's right to organize and bargain. How did it go and how long are the protests going to last?

I saw the same display of force years ago when the republican convention was in NYC. The show of police force started way before there were any demonstrators. It's a way to intimidate people.

Please keep us posted!!

Looks like they have many more protestors than expected. Numbers up to 10,000, the largest protest ever in Lansing. I couldn't get close, apparently a bus is the only way to get downtown. I know the nooks and crannies of the city where there is parking, all full. =(

Having an early lunch, then back down there.

Police are geared up, tear gas for citizens:

There will be 3 to 4 thousand protesters tomorrow, we will definitely outnumber the law. It will be peaceful hopefully; last week people were pepper sprayed but nothing worse. It will only get exciting if they deny access to the capital.

I hope you will comment tomorrow on this march where obviously the demonstrators will be outnumbered.
