The Only Moral Abortion is My Abortion

Abortion is a highly personal decision that many women are sure they'll never have to think about until they're suddenly faced with an unexpected pregnancy. But this can happen to anyone, including women who are strongly anti-choice. So what does an anti-choice woman do when she experiences an unwanted pregnancy herself? Often, she will grin and bear it, so to speak, but frequently, she opts for the solution she would deny to other women -- abortion

If you believe you murdered someone Via abortion, are you a murder psychologically? You must go through the same, or similar, psychological possesses. A cold blooded person wouldn't care, but a generally good person would be psychologically tormented. Unless you don't believe abortion is murder, but your pretending to for fear of being outcast.

@Michel; yes it is possible they believe what they did is wrong and that they will be going to hell (or not; Catholics have that forgiveness thing going for them, the Evangelicals and other Protestants, I don't know); in that case they wouldn't be hypocrites; but if they hide the fact or make up excuses for themselves, or pretend to be highly moral because it is convenient for them, then it's true hypocrisy.

Hypocrisy is the state of pretending to have beliefs, opinions, virtues, feelings, qualities, or standards that one does not actually have. Hypocrisy involves the deception of others and is thus a kind of lie. (Wikipedia)

But what if they sincerely believed that what they did was wrong?

The cover-ups and no-tellings are certainly where the hypocrisy lies (pun intended =) but can they twist and warp their fundamental afterlife-based morality to not feel some guilt? Don't they believe in Hell?

More than cognitive dissonance, the behavior of these women seems to me like outright hypocrisy.

It's the power of a Following. The right, more aggressive then the left by nature, tends to incite a stronger cult following. I hate to admit it but we have extremist on both sides of the Aisle, It that part of human nature that is so dangerous. .

What in the world can one make of the cognitive-dissidence that these anti-abortion women are able to display?  How is this possible?  I do not understand the rationalizing, the mind-games, that we humans are able to juggle?  To manufacture a legitimate reason to abort a pregnancy, then turn around and condemn the doctor of murder, then be right back protesting other women having the right to the same procedure.  Mind boggling.
