I sometimes question my sanity. In this case, was I crazy to go to a Thanksgiving gathering where there were 18 adults and 8 children in attendance? I was the only one to wear a mask--no guarantee to avoid Covid 19. I ate with the mask off of course.
The host (my son-in-law's father) is a preacher, so, of course, he had to give a prayer (blessing) with everybody holding hands. I quietly escaped the room feigning a bathroom "emergency". I have no idea what was in the prayer. Now for that, I'm thankful!
Seeing all the food prepared was an embarrassment to the human race. What's worse is how so many men, women, and children piled their plate high with food, only to throw half of it in the garbage, then head for the desserts. When one man took a piece of the pie I made, ate one bite, and tossed it, I about hit the ceiling! (He thought it was pumpkin, not sweet potato.) Weren't these heathens taught to "eat what you take"? What a waste. Was it Mrs. B that recently said, "I don't much like people"? Amen, sister.
Next year, I'm staying home.
