We are a worldwide social network of freethinkers, atheists, agnostics and secular humanists.

Every so often some tree hugging l*beral stands on a soapbox and states how we should treat all people with respect; even those canine b*ll-licking theists. What the h*ll is up with that?

Little d*ckless pig-f*cking bastards have their heads stuck so far up their collective *sses that only a proctologist could find them.

Why should I show these cr*tins any respect? Waste of my time, day in day out, talking to creatures less intelligent than the local pot bellied p*g. G*d is great, yeah right, and the holocaust was just f*cking awesome. Pimpled *ss little b*stards spouting the destruction of a world from their leather bound S & M mistress; take these orders you stupid p*ke.

Willfully ignoring life's beauty, because the only f*cking thing they are concerned with is death. Yeah death, that's it for the pompous big*ts that infest this earth. Pin headed pr*cks without one redeeming feature; unless procreating with these animals is a plus. Actually, it's a good thing there are so many human animals, the sheep get a free ride. (Unless it's a southern chr*stian c*nservative, then all bets are off).

What mind bending reason is there to not go to your local ch*rch on sunday and p*ss on its walls, they've been p*ssing on mankind for generations. Just because they haven't stoned anyone lately we should give the intellectually impaired a free ride? B*llshit, smack the b*tches whenever you get a chance, the only way to keep their smarmy *sses in line.

You want to be an accommodationist? What the h*ll is wrong with you? What respect can be given to that which destroys the earth while raping it for all the profits it can grab. Tax the institutions, parody the pre*chers, be loud and proud. Talk about what a disease the ch*rch is. Its warped sh*t for brains minds that hold society in rusty barbaric shackles. F*ck them.

Have a nice f*cking day.

Thanks to Michel for turning another one of my useless rants into a much more amusing blog with his excellent editing. =)

@Neal: not being religious, I'm not into "martyrs" but MJ comes as close to this word as I can think of :-)

At least you have a very nice radio voice :-) (hey, you people, go check out the AU Podcast Promo on the Main Page!)

For the nice ladies, MJ does live with me. Give her a lot of sympathy.

Dang, maybe i should go slam a bunch of beers so i can catch up to you guys.  I was telling this liberal, not really practicing Christian woman(in other words, there was hope) that I was friending on Facebook when she mentioned something about "respect", that I thought that people, by default, initially deserve respect.  For instance, a baby one comes across sleeping in a crib, deserves respect.  People have to EARN disrespect.  Most Faux News pundits have pretty well earned my disrespect.

Ideas, on the other hand, do not initially deserve respect.  Ideas have to EARN respect, via discussion, promotion, research, measuring, testing, peer review, and consensus. All ideas should be initially criticized, and investigated.  Many aspects and ideas of religion have never earned respect.  Some have, but most not, and thus they do not deserve respect and even warrent disrespect.

oooh, politics, yum!!

i do love me some politics!! oh yeah, i'm there!!  (rubs palms)

oh yeah, i do try to not argue with my sweetie's lifelong pals, who are like his blood brothers, except nothing like him at all, imo,

i try,

sort of....sometimes...kinda try....

and in some respects, because they are mostly igorant about politics,

and are easy to confuse and dismantle and embarrass (alllll they ever have are the talking points, but never the facts, i wish i had a nickle for every time they get the dumbfounded look in their eyes when they realize they had no idea what i just told them...)

BUT since i can easily chew them up and spit them out

they kinda sorta mostly leave politics off the table with me,  too....dang.

i kinda miss poking holes in everything they said....mmmMM..

JM =)

Yeah, theists are sneaky bastards. When you are visible they are all nice and shit, then you turn your back and they're shooting abortion doctors, wiping out planned parenthood, allowing creationism in the classrooms.

I have the same encounters with theists. Most friends and family are theists. Sure, they're not going to discuss faith with me, because they know I will respond aggressively. They are not going to convert me, so we can talk about other things.

But what do they vote for? Did they elect all the damn tea party bitches to office? Yes they did. Do they think ID in schools is okay, yes they do. Do they discriminate against all who do not live as the bible teaches, damn straight they do.

If the religious person is liberal, then maybe they will not display the intolerance that comes from the fundamentalists, but do they step up to the plate? A few do, but considering how many people are religious in the U.S., a very disproportionate few actually speak up.

People of faith get respect by being enslaved to god, big fucking deal; I'm not impressed. Earn respect by doing the right thing, by taking the right action, by standing up against the fundamentalism that sickens the country.

you know what i think is one factor not being discussed, in our reactions, which are so interestingly all over the chart,

(and may reflect this week's current attitude only, haha)

~~IS~~

how much religion is in our face.

see, most theists that i know or hang around with, as well as the SBNRs, all know i am atheist.  Nowadays, they don't much take me on, or want to discuss it with ME, not so much anymore.

IF THEY DID, if i was getting tons of it all up in my face, yeah, i'd politely try to trigger a thought or question in them.  sure i would.  I am way more polite in real life than i am online.

see, i can and do hang with theists, but, it never much gets put out there on the table to pick apart, see??  not nowadays, not hardly ever.

so, it's like that.  theists *almost* seem like normal ppl if they don't talk about religion.

and at work, nope, i get tons o gawd all over me, but, i am not out at work.

so maybe that is a difference, is HOW MUCH, HOW SEVERE OF A DOSE, HOW OFTEN are the ppl answering this blog referring to?  i am guessing, that makes a difference in their ability to see the theist as an actual human,

i swear, if you get them to shut up about it, they almost blend.

almost.
