We are a worldwide social network of freethinkers, atheists, agnostics and secular humanists.

I have recently written a blog post as a response to a theist who claims that the atheist is the most unfortunate person. He writes the atheist's life is devoid of wonder, love, hope, happiness and mystery. That we serve a tyrant? he didn't say which and that only god would remedy this malady.

Faith, I bet faith in god, is touted as the greatest thing one can have and since the atheist doesn't have it, he is miserable creature. Natural processes, we are told are devoid of wonder and that we only desire temporal pleasures without telling us the pleasures that are not time bound.

I agree entirely with Neal on the post you presented Onyango but I must admit I could not take that nonsense further so (bad me) I didn't check any further from what you had posted...

Thanks Neal. It is sad that a person believes that I can't sit by the river and contemplate the clear waters as they flow by without adding a god to the picture! How sad can such a person's life be?

That they are not supposed to be happy here, but to happy somewhere else permanently. It is rather a bizarre way to live

Excellent post as always. Those who feel sympathy for us that do not find god worthy of wonder, love, hope, or anything else, only do so to feel better about their useless god activities. I feel sympathy for the followers; those who will never know the real beauty and wonder that exists under their noses.
