We are a worldwide social network of freethinkers, atheists, agnostics and secular humanists.

Being an atheist which is a far cry from the norm already seems to put us apart.

Being an atheist can be a part of many thing s that can set us apart from mainstream society since we view the world in a different way and individually, have our own set of characteristics...

What if we suffer from dislexia, have gaps of knowledge in, for example, religious matters, have a different sexual orientation, have a very poor income level ?

What if we have been from childhood, or from our teens onward, marginals, picked upon, pointed at ?

What if we have totally different perceptions, views and opinions and that those influence or maybe dictate our way of life that can be viewed as weird by the majority of people ?

What if we have "strange" interests that can range from the evolution of man, a different analysis of history ? or what most people would call an unhealthy obsession , for example, as a love for clocks, their different mechanisms, their symbolics, their histories, or a love and knowledge of insects as caterpillars or grasshoppers and so many many others ?

The list could be endless.

Valid information about the world we live in, I believe is sparse.  There is so much omissions, disinformation, misdirected informations, urban legends, and what to my mind is a widely spread curious fascination as the one for idols or for royalty and I don't know what else, the FBI maybe...

One has to see through all this to get some kind of perspective, not only on what's going on these days, but also historically speaking, what's been going on for milleniums.

This has led me to be less and less interested in newspapers, newscasts, magazines, though some news or events aren't avoidable, and maybe the sceptic in me thinks that the ones that reaches us may be slightly distorted...

I am definitely a 2nd class citizen.  My strange political views, my gaps of knowledge in so many areas, my low income, being a freethinker atheist added to my being some kind of an artist places me in that category...

I didn't know what group this could go into so that's why I put it as a blog...
