In God's Image

Religion's spirit-body split has produced many dualistic divisions like Hell and Heaven. Hell (fictional dystopia) is ostensibly the realm of the damned. Heaven (fictional utopia) is supposedly the realm of the saved. Many religions have their laudatory chosen few destined to go to Heaven (the saved) and their derogatory many discarded to Hell (the damned). In Greek mythology Hades is the Underworld; land of the dead. Gulley and Mulholland said, "much of the pain and suffering in our world…

Bipolar God

Gulley and Mulhollan refer to the dualistic "fear-based and heaven earning religions." (2004) Dualism has been involved in Abrahamic religions from the start and has led to a “theology of separation.” (Walsch, 2005) Propagandistic fear-based religions contribute to shame, guilt, anxiety, mistrust, depression, drug addiction, sexual repression/ obsession, and even suicide. Condescending dualistic religions have a view of a damning God (a God of damnation), a malicious diety of retribution. A…

Planetai

It is by way of naturalistic patterns and order, I feel gifted to have a foundational footage to build my nature-based worldview. I find it interesting that the Greek root word for planet is planetai ---> meaning "wandering." I endorse the idea that us human earthlings we are indeed nature-created wanderers and Cosmic pilgrims as we individually make our meandering journey in search of discovering, “Who am I?,” “What am I?, and in finding our place in the Cosmos. The Aristotelian and…

Dualistic Religions

Dualistic Religions - Zoroaster founded the Persian ancient religion of Zoroastrianism, that has had a major influence on the Abrahamic religions. Kriwaczek said, “Zoroaster’s reputation had been high in the classical world.” (2003) He taught the dualistic forces of good and evil, and proclaimed that the world is a Cosmic battleground between them. The symbol for Zoroastrianism is fire, and it represented an enlightened force…

Spirit-Body Dualism

Nature has some key dualisms and we know that humans have many dualisms (most of them man-made). The Cartesian Dualism is a significant man-made dualistic concept separating mind (psyche) and body (soma). This mind-body split continues to be a major worldview for many people. However, the Abrahamic religions take this mind-body split and turn it into a dualistic spirit-body split. The spirit-body split has dramatically divided the spiritual world from the material world, and has given us the…
