I heard this song and I couldn't resit the urge to parody it, so here goes nothing.
But for the grace of God
I can hear the neighbors
They’re blaspheming again
And there hasn’t been a bible in their home
Since who knows when
I don’t mean to listen in
But the reasoning is so loud
I turn up the radio to drown it out
And silently say a little…

Hello world.
Kind of weird to begin a blog with something I didn't write myself, but it's too good not to share. This was originally on a forum called hoopla.net which shut down about a year ago. After searching the interweb, I eventually found someone who knew someone who found the content I was looking for. I wish I knew who the original author was. I would credit him if I could.
Enjoy...

All across the planet, there is nothing cuter than an atheist. We are the most adorable creatures that walk, crawl, slither, fly or swim on this earth. Loving, curious and playful, there is nothing that compares.
Think of all our distant and close relatives wandering the world; all atheists from the time they are born until the time they are…

To wake up in a world
where freedom means something more then:
"I get what I want, and you get nothing."
What a powerful day that would be.
What a wonderful thing that would be.
If only, If only...
What If I could tell you that, people were free
and respected you for who you are and not what
they want you to be.
What a powerful day that would be.
What a wonderful thing that would be.
If only, If only...
What if we lived…

What an amazing time to be alive.
For the first time in this planet 4 billion year history, a species has arisen that has a clear understanding of the universe around them. They have developed great art; are capable of great compassion, left the firmament of the earth to set foot on another world. Written monumental philosophies, and developed tools to let everyone of them access almost all their collective information. They have even learned to manipulate the very thing that…

Religion always refrains from calling freedom of speech a liberty that should be enjoyed by all. Religion says, "say this, ignore this, toe the line buddy or rot in hell." Good for them, making up arbitrary rules of behavior is where it's at. I can't blame them for the thought, if I were to make up some bullshit claptrap for fools to follow, then I should…
ContinueEvery civilization comes to an end. The great empires of the past, the Romans, the Greeks, the Incas, the Aztecs, the Han dynasty, Egypt, are all now effectively extinct. Even in recent times we have seen the collapse of great civilizations, the USSR comes to mind. We have this prejudice that our society is somehow immune from this, that we could never come to an end.
If you were to poll people in the United States what they thought was the largest threat to our civilization was I…

In my hospital bed in the orthopedic ward, I was pretty freaked out... My girlfriend who had studied with me in London and had witnessed all my dealings (and beliefs) in the esoteric society, took all the stuff related to the society (or should I say cult), and there was a lot of it, to an organism in Montreal that dealt with sects.
At this time, in hospital, I talked very little. Also I rejected, as abruptly as I had joined, everything that was connected to this sect. So,…

Dark images from a paganistic past. The viewer gets submerged in a hyper realistic world . The nightmares from one person can be the sweet wishful dreams of another. The images refer to mythical times, they become speechless, recognizable in the unconscious. Women, naked, painted, decorated, besmeared, in bondage, rubber or leather, they look/glance not ashamed in the lens from the camera, or languished turn away their…

I haven't posted or commented for some time as I've found myself becoming more "anti-theist" than "athiest". I didn't want to pass on my negativity to others in the group.
In front of the TV watching the memorials to the World Trade Center thinking about 1973 through 1975 when I worked in North Tower. Also thinking how much the logic of my bumper sticker applies when I reminisce the days I worked in the tower and would like to share the content.
"Science flies you…
