Damon Linker, a writer[?] for The Week, posits that we no longer are honest about our atheism. He is short of calling us lame duck atheists and in this post, I disagree with his thesis pointing out that instead of death of god leading to bleakness and despair it creates the greatest opportunity for human progress and development.

For most people, the debate over freewill and determinism, I think is one fought over a misunderstanding of the debate or of words. To most freewill believers, they take determinism to mean a person with a gun behind your back forcing you to act in a certain way and this I assert is wrong.

Hooray!!!
POLLY AND THE ONE AND ONLY WORLD has been selected as a finalist for the Indiefab 2014 YA Best Book of the Year Awards. The winners will be announced in June at the ALA Convention in San Francisco. I doubt I'll be flying out to SF, but, truly, this is a gratifying achievement in itself.
