Bird Turd Jesus: Ohio Man Jim Lawry Says Dropping On His Windshield Is Image Of Christ

It isn't the Shroud of Turin. It's the Turd of Brooklyn.

Jim Lawry of Brooklyn, Ohio, tells NewsNet5 that he's "amazed" by the …

Why I oppose religion

Friends, I know some of you have been soldiers and have fought for what at that time you thought was right and I can't take fault with you. Many of you have killed or seen their friends killed in battle lines and I don't have words enough to express my condolences. That said, I think all war is born of superstition. I have not looked at the history of all the wars that have been fought, but I think we can agree that the greatest percentage have been to defend a particular creed.

I…

'Hitler was an Atheist!'

You'll likely all have heard this argument at some point. It's a classic.

Outlined rather well by http://www.godlessgeeks.com/LINKS/GodProof.htm, it goes something like this:

"(1) Person X, a well-known atheist, was morally inferior to the rest of us.

(2) Therefore,…

Prof. A's Science Fix- February 22nd Edition

Dear readers of the Science Fix: real life is interfering with my online life in a big way (but in a good way) and it’s becoming increasingly difficult for me to write this blog in a timely fashion. I’m hoping to be able to still post a Science Fix at least a couple of times a month, but I may not be able to do in the future, because…

Why I'm not an Agnostic

97f/06/huch/6264/43

"I ought to call myself an agnostic; but, for all practical purposes, I am an atheist." - Bertrand Russell

Atheism, I find, is often misunderstood. To a significant number of people, it is seen as a firm belief that God does not/cannot exist - meaning it's 'just as bad' as religion itself. This is wrong.

Calling Atheism a belief…

how to bother a Muslim cleric?

how to bother a Muslim cleric from within the Islamic text?

Islamists always try to show themselves as confident about Islam and who all Muslims agree on one Islam which is their Islam, and their Islam, is the literally Islam (the true Islam, haha) .

Check this out :

"قال محمد: " أيما رجل وأمرأة توافقا فعشرة ما بينهما ثلاث ليال, فأن أحبا أن يتزايدا أو يتتاركا

Muhammad said :"If (or Whatever/ whenever) a man and a woman agree (to…

Neither Regret Nor Remorse: Colonial Nostalgia Among French Far Right

by : Thomas Serres

[On 17 October 1961, tens of thousands of Algerian protesters peacefully demonstrated against violations against their civil liberties in Paris. In the midst of the war of Independence (1954 – 1962), the FLN (Front de libération nationale) was engaged in a violent struggle against France that relied on the mobilization within the Metropole as well as combat in Algeria. As a result of FLN…

Comment Commentary: Do non-believers not have a "reasoned and valid moral baseline"?

istock_000017356047small_wide-59a19304fd5e7a5819f1bf20f9796caa43b1fbf7-s6-c10

Before I start, I'd like to introduce this all new (yet not original) post format.

In light of a series of interesting comments on the last post (Why Tolerate Intolerance?), I've decided to dedicate the occasional (slightly more humorous and ranty) 'rambling' to methodically picking apart sentiments expressed in the comment section of this blog which don't sit with me too well. I think it's only fair that if…
