Some theists just don’t get it. Why can’t skeptics just believe the same way they do? There’s a reason they’re called tall tales and sometimes people need to be reminded of the tall tales they don’t…Continue

"The supreme arrogance of religious thinking: that a carbon-based bag of mostly water on a speck of iron-silicate dust around a boring dwarf star in a minor galaxy in an underpopulated local group of galaxies in an unfashionable suburb of a supercluster would look up at the sky and declare, 'It was all made so that I could exist!" ~ Peter Walker

Images are nice, but the MUSIC is what moved me....
I lived through the fires from Lismore NSW to Ballendeen Qld. Several people lost their lives. The fire came within 200 metres from my front door. The smoke was as bad as the fire, toxic. People suffered with respiratory illnesses for long time afterwards. The countryside was devastated, hundred year old trees gone, whole forests gone, pastures gone. Temperatures in the mid 40's.
All the "experts" said the countryside would not recover for decades, yet 3 years on and the same forests and pastures are once more green. well not quite, Lismore/ Ballina/ Casino have now had that much rain and twice suffered unprecedented flooding that there is talk of relocating the town. (city) A lot of area is now covered in mud, killing the pasture, but nature is fighting back. The green is slowly returning (the weeds first of all).
The human cost has been just as dear, both in deaths, health, shelter, and economics. The people of Lismore, the worst affected by the natural disasters, have lost just about everything including their town, but they have gained a sense of mateship, community, strength and resilience. They, like the countryside, were all but annihilated, but like nature are springing back stronger and closer than before.

I'm an 86 year old strong atheist.Still active via letters to editor, but no longer able to physically remove roadside litter (crosses) Fortunately they are all already gone & I have friends who are younger & physically capable of it should any new ones spring up.
Thanks for thinking of me, Sydni! Hugs! I'm going o try to be less of a stranger.
