RNA world hypothesis

The RNA world hypothesis proposes that self-replicating ribonucleic acid (RNA) molecules were precursors to current life, which is based on deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), RNA and proteins. It is generally accepted that current life on Earth descends from an RNA world, although RNA-based life may not have been the first life to exist.RNA stores genetic information like DNA, and catalyzes chemical reactions like an enzyme protein. It may, therefore, have played a major step in the evolution of…See More

What brought you to Atheist Universe?
I was a minister in the Universal Life Church seeking to discuss spiritual matters with people of all faiths and beliefs to further research and test my own evolving spiritual philosophies.

My philosophy is that we are all captains of our own ship, masters of our own "soul" (invictus by Henley)

My ordination was revoked for a few reasons, one being that I kept posting, in the forum and discussion topics, that there is nothing divine in any religion. They are an invention by man for totally human issues and reasons.

I failed to find any discussions of non Christian issues.

The site censor was not happy with my philosophical discussion posts.I never criticised any person directly or indirectly only the discussion topic. I spoke my mind agreeing or disagreeing and offering my own thoughts.
I did not follow the crowd.Lesson: Never grow above the rest of the grass because you are first to get mown down

I came here seeking an open exchange of ideas, debate on different perspectives and hoping to find a comradeship based on mutual respect.

Life on Earth

Posted on August 5, 2022 at 8:10am 3 Comments

It is estimated that the age of the earth is 4.54 billion years +/- 0.05 billion years.

First life began (scientific guestimate) at 3.8 billion years ago. That is it took only 0.75 billion years for life to appear on the new world.

In universal terms that would be just an instant.

Let’s speculate how life started. We have an ocean called the primordial soup ( a sea of serendipitous synchronicity and coincidences) into which one day falls and asteroid bringing with it…
