Nice Comment
Chelsea had a 3-1 deficit from the first leg but would you believe it we were leading 3-0 with less than ten minutes left on the clock and to my despair, Real Madrid scored a last-minute goal leaving the score on aggregate 4-4 so extra time was added 30mins to be exact and then Madrid scored a goal leaving it at 5-4.
Last season it seemed we could win everything and we ended up as European Champions and world club cup winners. But this year nothing has gone right.
With the final college game completed last night, the real basketball season is over. (I hate pro basketball.) Kansas beat North Carolina in a really good game. The women's championship game the night before was also quite entertaining.
No Baker Mayfield, but even better! The Colts got Matt Ryan (for only a 3rd round draft choice!)! Indy fans are ecstatic.
Randall, I've heard about Baker and the Colts (hard NOT to hear all the noise coming down about this business!), and it may be that he is headed for Indianapolis. And I like Baker, too ... a LOT. I like his attitude as much as his performance on the field during the 2020 season ... and I think they way he's been treated here is nothing short of despicable.
Sure, Watson may take us to the playoffs, but it won't be the first time in recent memory, and he would do well to work to connect with this community if he wants any rhythm from THIS Browns fan.
Stephen, even we fans don't comprehend the workings of the football leagues.
Loren, the Colts need a q-back! And I like Baker--at least his commercials! As for Watson, I'm guessing you'll be singing a different tune come about November.
I'm not sure I understand the American Football player trading system, but Soccer in the UK and Europe was turned upside down when the European Court of Justice ruled in 1995 that the law concerning the free movement of workers included the buying and selling of professional football players.
"The decision banned restrictions on foreign EU players within national leagues and allowed players in the EU to move to another club at the end of a contract without a transfer fee being paid." This of course was fantastic for players but not so good for clubs.
Okay ... let's see if I can get this straight here:
Twenty-four hours ago, Houston quarterback Deshaun Watson told EVERYONE that he DIDN'T want to go to Cleveland. At the same time, the Browns front office told Baker Mayfield that no, they would NOT trade him.
Fast forward to around 3 PM today. Watson announces that he IS going to the Cleveland Browns, who have offered him a five-year, $230 million contract!!! Roughly simultaneously, Baker Mayfield is no longer the Browns QB, though where he might go is undetermined ... whereupon my reaction is:
Whisky.
Tango.
Foxtrot!!!
And, playing 5 times in 8 days, my Indiana U basketball team took it on the chin last night, losing by 29 points. They had no pep and looked bad. "'Wait'll next year".
Despite all the problems the club are going through for no fault of their own the team beat Lille 2-1 to reach the quarter-final of the Champions League. The draw for the Quarter-Final will take place on Monday. American player Christian Pulisic a firm favourite of the Chelsea supporters scored his team's first goal making it 4-1 on aggregate.
Christian Pulisic scored in both legs of the last-16 tie
What a mess! Hang in there, Stephen.
