Political Visions.

Information

Political Visions.

Welcome to Political Visions.
The aim of this group is to learn about other peoples political visions and discuss those visions. How they envision the structure of the political system to be. The roles of the participants within the system. It could be a broad outline view or just an element or sub element of the political system. It is about political ideas whether they be socialistic, conservative, liberal, big government, little government, the role of the people within the political system, the role of government at all levels of your country. What you think should be in a constitution and a charter of rights and freedoms within a society. The obligations that those freedoms and rights impose on you as an individual.
Post your vision as a discussion to make it easier to discuss and understand your ideas for a political system.

Everyone remembers the quote by Marx-The opium of the people. But here is the full and more sympathetic quote.

I've looked at economic theory a bit, but havent read Piketty's book yet.

Wonder if the term conservative has been hijacked into religious extremism to conscript thoese who believe the bible is inerrent so they subscribe to a view of neoconservative - corporations are better than governement while not knowing that governement is "We the people."

Perhaps religionists because of their submission and faith turn over control to a "King."

Fear Incorporated 2.0 introduction from Democracy Now

Sharia Law is illegal under the constitution of the U.S. It's nonsense fear mongering funded by some rich xenophobics.

I often receive telephone call polls regarding politial topics. At the end of questioning I'm asked if I'm a liberal or conservative. The terms seem meaningless to me - especially the term conservative.

Stephen

The joke about the following is it shows the founding fathers of the U.S. and the military looking to an image of Jesus as a 'guiding light'  for the Constitution.

Unfortunately Christian Restructionists and others see it as reality.

It's not a joke.

Racism runs rampant as shown in the following

I'm just reading Thomas Piketty's Capital in the 21st century and i have to admit that it is blowing me away, i always new that there was massive income inequality in the world, but even i didn't imagine how big the gap has become. I recommend this book for people who want to understand today's Capitalism.
