Have a nice trip, Ian and Elna!

Religion, belief in superhuman power that hears and responds to our needs, is a silly notion and worthy of ridicule. Religion that imposes its nonsense on governing the population is ridiculous, clearly not appropriate for civil society.

As its beliefs about human sexuality, religious beliefs are not only foolish, they are harmful to the core. How many times have females of all ages become pregnant and been held accountable for their pregnancies if they do not have the certificate of marriage? How many times have males not been held accountable and not left with the responsibility to raise children?

Giving males the belief that they have supremacy over females is ludicrous! How do males think society would survive if they did not have females as equal partners in issues of reproduction?

Celibacy demanded of priests exists as a notion dreamed up by male Homo sapiens who often have bodies stronger than most females. So what? A bridge is only as strong as its weakest timber! The strength of a chain depends on its weakest link! Homo sapiens are as strong as their weakest member! Physical strength is not the test for legitimate power.

The beauty of giving up the supremacy of males over females and whites over blacks offers the opportunity for diversity for individual development without prejudice. One can look at the world in which he/she lives with a sense of wonder and excitement about being a part of this GRAND UNIVERSE. The experience of fresh air, cool water, warm sun, fertile soils can be as grand without superstition and lies.

Each one of us has the right to live in a civil society protected by the rules of civil laws agreed to by the population. "GOVERNMENT OF THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE, FOR THE PEOPLE" stands to this day. Shedding the yoke of religious beliefs opens the world to each one of us.

One way or another they have to be kept away from the levers of power. In England we must disestablish the Church of England.

They need knocking off their pedestals first.

With enormous wealth comes enormous power. Various religious institutions have also managed to couple themselves to nationalism/national identity, creating an unholy, divisive and destructive alliance.
