Heat waves always lead to electrical storms, often with hail, but not this violent, not with hail this large. It looks like the hail ruined the broccoli, cauliflower, & peppers.

I dread summers now, & despise this unbearable heat, while the politicians hide in their air conditioned offices/homes, with no idea of reality.

Yes, Chris at our stage of life, we feel threatened by heat, & virus, trapped to medical phone calls, not seeing our kids occasionally, & not going out for anything but food shopping.

Stay safe, Patricia! Heat, fires, hailstones, Covid - you must feel hemmed in and threatened in a very nasty way! We hope you'll get relief soon!

I hope repairs go well, Mrs. B and that you can stay safe from the fires. North America is suffering badly at the moment. Europeans are also learning that stable, predictable weather is a thing of the past now.

Denmark is getting off lightly at the moment. Our heatwave means 30C during the day and 20C at night and that's uncomfortable but not life-threatening. We just slow down.

Mrs B, "melons, strawberries, tomatoes, cukes, lettuce....." sound like a dream to me.  My greenhouse does its best to overcome the heat. I will be putting in my fall seedings and the heat should help the seeds sprout. With coming cooler weather, he fall crop should do well.

Larry built himself a greenhouse and he has a wonderful result. Even tho he is badly disabled by polio he had when he was 2-years old, he gardens with energy and enthusiasm.

Laura helps him when she has time. Luckily, they both have businesses in our home.

"306 fires burning at the moment, & 100 Mile House is bad....an hour south of us." I watched the Canadian news from Vancouver B.C. and the fire story grows as the summer advances. Stay safe!

I agree Stephen, hailstones during a heatwave are hard to put my mind around. Climate change is bleedingly obvious, yet the general public and the people we vote into office are oblivious of the obvious!

Just as the economic theory that government is to protect business without regard for the needs of the working class ultimately leads to hunger, homelessness, fear, anger, protest, rebellion, revolt, uprising, and commitment to insurrection.

When working men and women struggle to feed, house, clothe, educate, have access to health care,  fail to build a retirement fund, and few options appear available to them, they turn to violence.

Climate change and political insurrection are bleedingly obvious.

It just doesn't end does it  Mrs.B? Who would have thought that in the middle of a heatwave you would get thunderstorms with big hailstones. When will our politicians accept global climate change, even to someone like myself human-induced climate change is bleeding obvious.

It's a corrugated plastic type material on the roof, with heavy gauge clear  plastic attached to 2x4 walls. The roof got the worst with 22 holes in it & Rick still has pieces left so will get some silicone tomorrow to begin repairs. He has a lot of stuff in there, melons, strawberries, tomatoes, cukes, lettuce.....

306 fires burning at the moment, & 100 Mile House is bad....an hour south of us.
