Exactly right Doone. Everybody who came to London from the south had to cross over London Bridge passed under the severed heads of convicted traitors as a warning to others I suppose?

Do you mean the sticks on the bottom image of London Bridge?

This is the London Bridge the song was about. ( London Bridge is falling down my fair lady)

Can you see the severed heads of so-called traitors at the beginning of the bride?

Interesting Map of European Languages

The majority of European nations speak a language belonging to the following language families:

  • Slavic
  • Germanic
  • Romance
  • Uralic

The languages are barely intelligible even inside those families, and absolutely not understandable between the families.

Even though I've seen this changing of the guard type display for many decades the belligerent nature of the show has changed the Allahu Akbar shouts on the Pakistani side and the Hindu equivalent on the Indian side has made it awful to watch.
