I haven't read this, just passing it along. PDF of the book is attached. - Dallas
Richard Wiseman is clear about one thing: Paranormal phenomena don’t exist. But in the same way space travel yields technology that transforms our everyday lives, so research into telepathy, fortune-telling and out-of-body experiences produces remarkable insights into our brains, behaviour and beliefs.
Would you like to control your dreams, convince strangers that you know all about them, and unleash the power of your unconscious mind? Then throw away your crystals and ditch your lucky charms. It is time to discover the real secrets of the paranormal.
“Wiseman shows us a higher joy as he skewers the paranormal charlatans, blows away the psychic fog and lets in the clear light of reason”
“…both scholarly and hilarious…this fast-paced book, packed with exercises to try for yourself, is a terrific read”
Yep, tons of people will be writing in saying they've see a ghost... It's not a shallow interview like this that will convince them otherwise.
"You can't prove there's no ghost and I've seen one."
It's a classic trap, don't need to go further.
I once read this self help book (there are still a lot of them around) about how to identify and solve our problems.
First I had to lie down and from feet to head become totally relaxed . I had to have asked a question that I wanted to know the answer to.
Well, I was in my thirties and I asked what was my relationship with my mother.
After maybe, 15 - 30 minutes of relaxation I was visualizing myself gagged and bound by straps completely.
This makes me think that this was probably the answer.
I didn't think it was by paranormal means, but only letting my subconscious loose...
I have many many examples of what was supposed to be realized by paranormal means but I don't believe in any of this. I've already written at lenght on this subject on AU.
