I would not think of them as a god, and probably most atheists would not.
Highly religious people would probably stick with their religion and perhaps think those aliens were satanic beings or just other creations of their gods.
Some superstitious people may think they were gods.
Some weak religious people may think they were gods.
Just my guesses. I could be wrong, but I'm certain I would not think they were gods.

Have we reached or passed that point where if a super-intelligent highly technical alien visitor arrived on earth would we see said alien as a god? Personally, I think we are well beyond that point. A couple of hundred years ago I'm not so sure we wouldn't bow down to such a visitor as an omniscient, omnipotent god. But surely the Greeks or Romans would see such a visitor as Zeus or Jupiter.
