So many unnecessary terms.

The N and the P are clear, but I don't know who are called the Y.

One thing to start with is do away with all labels. If you look carefully there's almost never need to divide people in groups and label them. Stop thinking in groups and don't mention the groups you could belong to. Don't be proud of your nationality or other things you can't help. Don't use group symbols or titles.

As for "real beggars," I guess I would define them as people who need money for food, housing, health care, and exclude those who want money for alcohol and/or drugs.

Are there any Swedish people among us? How do they handle the alcohol and drug abuse problems in Sweden?

When I was in Sweden, Oh! Gosh, it must have been 40 years ago, they had an impressive program for alcoholic and drug-addicted people. I wonder how it turned out?

What do you suppose it will take to end the use of the "N-word," "Y-word," and "P-word?"

Are Homo sapiens capable of rejoicing in diversity?

What if we had teams of problem solvers made of equal numbers of N-people, Y-people, P-people, and Non-N/Non-Y/Non-P people assigned to solving the problem of homeless people?

Do you think such a team could work together and find solutions?

What other strategy could we try?

Onyango I don't know what sort of welfare payments people get in Kenya but I bet it's not the same as people get here in the UK. Please don't get me wrong I still don't think it's nearly enough for people to live a decent life, but nobody needs to be homeless. As for begging, it's hard to sort out the real from the phoney.

Comment by Onyango Makagutu on May 5, 2021 at 8:55

Stephen, those beggars on London streets should come and do benchmarking here in Nairobi.

Comment by Mrs.B on May 4, 2021 at 18:06

I'll never figure that one out.

Comment by Stephen Brodie on May 4, 2021 at 18:03

Exactly

Comment by Mrs.B on May 4, 2021 at 17:30

So why aren't the wonderful powerfully rich religions taking care of their own?
