Nice Comment
We've had a few players who had a cardiac arrest in the Premier league
The collapse on the football field of play of Buffalo player Damar Hamlin has brought forth an avalanche of all things related to prayer. It has been difficult for me to watch an entire team kneel down together, heads bowed, praying. To hear constantly "our prayers are with...." bothers me very much. Hamlin is currently recovering, thanks to all the prayers directed towards him--or so the believers believe. Credit, of course, goes to the paramedics and doctors that revived him.
Events like this only enhance the power of religion (and prayer) in our world. I suppose humans will always believe there is a god. It saddens me.
I have to admit I didn't get enthused about the World Cup, it just didn't feel right watching it in the winter.
It was an exciting World Cup in its entirety. I saw parts of all matches. Messi and Mbappie were super in the Final.
Admittedly, I hadn't watched any of the World Cup matches. (It's a little boring to watch scoreless games, and I heard at least 12 matches were just that.) But when I turned the telly on to watch a football (Americano) game, the final match was going into overtime. So I watched the thrilling conclusion. I had no favorite, but it was nice to see Messi and Argentina finally win.
Hi Randy. I said when your fellow countrymen Todd Boehly and his consortium bought Chelsea it would mean hard times for the next few seasons. Boehly doesn't understand football he only understands making money by buying and turning the "Beautiful Game" into just another sports franchise. His early decision to fire the manager Tuchel was a mistake and the taking unto himself all decisions about buying and selling players.
Stephen: So what's happening to Chelsea? Have they fallen on bad times?
Frankly, Brissett couldn't match up with either Baker Mayfield or Bernie Kosar ... and I didn't bother watching the game. :-P On top of everything else, we get the Ravens next Sunday. Double YUK.
Loren: Sorry your Browns are stuck with Jacoby Brissett. Nice young man, but no Peyton Manning.
You must remember Joan that many people were brought up supporting a team from an early age. I for instance have supported Chelsea since being a lad. The recent game in the Champions League against AC Milan where Chelsea won 3-0
