Chelsea are European champions and now World champions
Chelsea won the Club World Cup for the first time after an extra-time victory against Brazilian club Palmeiras.
Stephen, I saw the score and thought of you celebrating.
Glad someone else feels the same way about the Olympics.
Randy, it was a sad spectacle. I won't be watching.
Chelsea had a near shock when playing Plymouth Argyll in the 4th round of the FA Cup coming from behind to win 2-1 Chelsea totally outplayed Plymouth and hit the bar 5 times.
What a sad "spectacle": the parade of nations at the opening ceremonies of the winter Olympics in Beijing. I didn't ( couldn't) watch it, but occasionally flipped the channel over to see what was going on. What you saw was masked athletes marching to loud music, strobe lights, and "happy" dancers, waving at imaginary throngs. I saw one guest watching glumly--Vladimir Putin. I'm not sure, but I think it took 3 hours to "show off" all the nations--one of which had only participant (Uzbeckistan). Again, sad. By the way, I, for one, am not watching the Olympics.
Yes Randall and to cap it all we were beaten by league leaders Manchester City
Stephen, I see that Chelsea lost recently. I suppose you're depressed. Sorry.
Yes, Stephen, I know all too well the feeling (of winning or losing). I try so hard to rationalize a loss--to "shake it off", but deep inside, for some strange reason, it hurts. I suppose a psychologist could explain what's behind such feelings. And I'm just a casual fan, as opposed to those rabid fans that actually attend games, perhaps bet on them, etc. I imagine they really take losing hard. After all, it's "just a game"!
Randall as for your team winning or losing I'm always surprised how it affects my spirits when Chelsea win or lose, I've been known to become quite depressed when we lose, I never understand why, after all, it isn't going to affect me in any tangible way. Weird.
I liked it, too, Randall. Bama has been sitting on top for way too long, though I know that the Buckeyes set 'em back at least once. Watching the Bulldogs go at it in the fourth quarter was satisfying as hell!
Great game with Georgia beating Alabama. Liked the outcome.
