In my opinion, Baseball is the only American sport worth its salt. Basketball can only be competitively played by freakishly big people.

American football is slow and boring, unlike Rugby which is exciting and fast. I've tried and tried to watch American football but gave up after so many stoppages. Please Americans don't take offence its just a personal opinion.

Too bad that watching baseball is so boring. Last evening, I counted 3 play-off games on at the same time. Of course, my Cubs lost with only three hits and one run. Yawn. And piping in fan background noise (because there are no stadium fans) is very annoying. Aarrgghh.

Thanks, Randall here in the UK the Soccer used to be aired for free until that darling of a human being Rupert Murdoch set up Sky TV and bought the rights to all the Premier League matches. During the lockdown, the government promised to show free to air most matches. But dear old Rupert put a stop to that, and watered-down the promise to just a few games and those to the less popular teams.

I hated to miss watching the end of the recent golf tournament, but I was hiking in a state park that day. But there's much more golf to be aired in the next couple of months.

In fact, there's more than enough sports of all kinds airing nowadays! Holy smokes: basketball (pro), football, hockey, baseball, and yes (Stephen), even soccer! Overload! And it couldn't come at a better time with all the politics going on here in the U.S. (disgusting Trump stuff).

I've been meaning to mention here Dustin Johnson's victory at the 2020 Tour Championship.  He made an impressive charge in the third round, then defended his position on Monday to secure first place, playing some pretty impressive golf throughout.

Congratulations, Dustin!

I also bought a pedometer, Randall, but no trophies for me so far ;-) Due to bad feet, damaged knees and spine... I'm proud when I reach 5000 steps, and perhaps I'll do better when I keep trying.

Chris, I suppose one could consider walking as a sport. It's certainly an activity. I bought a cheap pedometer recently to record my daily steps. (Cost was $1, but shipping was $4!!)  10,000 steps is recommended, and so far, I've topped it every day. How are you (and others) doing?

Randall your right people just love talking about the weather, it's a subject we Brits can't get enough of. If you need any help just let me know.

Last week we in London experienced wonderful lighting storms and it would have been great if I had managed to take some photographs, but I'm not as fast as I once was.

Long ago I watched football on tv with the in-laws, enjoying f-i-l's running comments in Rotterdam idiom, and the crazy football fans. The best I can do for myself is walk to keep some health problems at bay.

Thanks, Stephen! I like the "avatar". I had one on the Nexus site, but was too lazy to submit one here. And thanks for sending out invitations to join. Heck, you even got Chris to sign up--and you can read her comment!

I've also considered starting another group--all about weather. People love to talk about the weather! For example, two days ago, there was a stalled front right over my county (in Indiana) that was responsible for dropping 2.5" of rain in 12 hours, whereas 10 miles to the north and south of that line, no rain fell at all! Amazing. Luckily for me and my yard/garden, I needed.
