I really despise these buildings & all they represent.

Comment by Stephen on July 14, 2020 at 4:16pm

These are some pictures of St. Augustine Church which was the Mother Church of the school of the same name. It was consecrated in 1880 but tried to make it look like a medieval church. I can still remember the smell of the incense swung about our heads in the Thurible the thought of it makes me feel sick.

What disgusting this church was built right in the middle of one of the poorest areas of London. All that money could have been used to feed thousands of poor people.

It's the biggest church that's not a cathedral, they called it the cathedral of the working class. What hypocrisy.

Comment by Mrs.B on July 14, 2020 at 3:50pm

The morons don't do that type of thing.

Comment by Stephen on July 14, 2020 at 3:47pm

Silly I know but as kids when we were dragged to church we would make funny shapes on our chest and they tried to force me to genuflect in front of the priest's as a sign of respect to the clergy. No wonder the Nuns in my school disliked me and my friend.

Comment by Mrs.B on July 14, 2020 at 3:37pm

Making the sign of the cross is silly too.

Comment by Stephen on July 14, 2020 at 3:33pm

The religious people throughout time have just loved their funny hats. But that's not enough for them, slowly but surely they start with a simple hat but then it gets gaudier and gaudier until they just look silly.
