Catholic Archbishop Says Pedophilia Is ‘Spiritual Encounter With God’

One of the highest-ranking officials in the Catholic Church says sexually abused children can experience “a spiritual encounter with God through the priest” while being molested.
Australia’s most powerful clergy, Archbishop of Melbourne Denis Hart, says the Catholic practice of confession is satisfactory for dealing with pedophilia in the church as it helps priests absolve “their own guilt” after sexually abusing children.

Ultra-Orthodox Jews say London schools should not teach 'lies' that Earth is older than 6,000 years

Rabbis reportedly insistent schools should be allowed to tell children Earth was created on date in Bible

The letter focuses on funding for schools in Hackney, north-east London, which has a large Jewish community Rob Stothard/Getty Images

An ultra-Orthodox Jewish group in London is understood to have written a letter urging teachers to boycott Government funding that would oblige them to teach “the lie that the world is ancient”, rather than 6,000 years old, as it says in the Bible.

Under Trump, America's religious right is rewriting its code of ethics

From scorning immigrants to accepting the president’s profanity, evangelicals are proving just how flexible their values can be

The religious right’s wholesale embrace of the Republican party and of Donald J Trump, both as a candidate and as president, has necessitated a rewriting of evangelical ethics. Here’s a summary, with annotations.

Joy Behar never walks on eggshells..

Comment by Anti_Doone on February 14, 2018 at 9:21pm

From RedState

Vice-President Mike Pence became pretty serious when the topic switched to Joy Behar bashing him on The View. But Pence made it clear that he wasn’t angry with Behar attacking him personally, he was upset that she had essentially attacked the central part of many people’s lives in order to get to him.

It all started when ex-Trump staffer Omarosa Manigault-Newman ranted about Pence on reality television, saying that if they thought Trump was bad, then Pence would be worse. Omarosa described Pence as a religious nut and mentioned that he believes God actually talks to him. For some reason, the ladies of The View thought this was a pertinent thing with whic..., and Behar especially decided to turn the crazy up to 11.

“It’s one thing to talk to Jesus. It’s another thing when Jesus talks to you. That’s called mental illness if I’m not correct. Hearing voices,” said Behar.

From Wikipedia "

In a rare case of open dissent within the movement over the substance of creation science,[54]Answers in Genesis (AiG) published a 2002 position paper titled: "Arguments we think creationists should NOT use".[55] After Hovind issued a point-by-point rebuttal,[56] Carl Wieland, Ken Ham, and Jonathan Sarfati of AiG wrote that the claims made by Hovind were "fraudulent" and contained "mistakes in facts and logic which do the creationist cause no good."[5][45][55] In particular, AiG criticized Hovind for "persistently us[ing] discredited or false arguments" as well as "fraudulent claims" from Ron Wyatt,[45] and described one of Hovind's claims as "self-refuting".[57] Rancorous disagreements resulted in AiG splitting into U.S. and Australian chapters in 2005. The Australian branch, renamed Creation Ministries International (CMI), maintained content critical of Hovind on their website, while the U.S. branch, led by Ken Ham, removed it.[58] In 2009, CMI said that they had relaxed their stance because CSE's revamped website had removed some of Hovind's claims to which they objected.[45]
