I was raised in a religious tradition that cultivated me to pity those following a different spiritual path, especially atheists and agnostics. In later years, after extended discussions with friends having travelled one or more of these other paths, I found out they recall pitying folks on my path! We all had hoped that the “unfortunate ignorant others” would someday see the light and join us on the “One and Only” path to something special.
Huston Smith has been a great inspiration for several decades. His book, The Religions of Man sold over three million copies.
I have attached an article I have been working on
I have incorporated comments from friends who follow various paths.
I would appreciate your frank answers to these questions after you read the article.
1. Is there a mountain in your life?
2. If there is a mountain, what is at the top? (if you can describe it in words)
3. Do atheists and agnostics have a finger in the moon pointing game?
