Taking his que from religion, brainwash them as early as you can.
Rep. Phil Gingrey (R-GA) wants American youths to be taught gender stereotypes in grade school classes, so they understand the roles of mothers and fathers — and the importance of allowing only opposite-sex couples to marry.
In a speech Monday on the House floor, Gingrey stressed his continued support for the Defense of Marriage Act — which defines marriage as only union between a man and a woman — and suggested that children need to be carefully taught about the traditional roles of their genders:
GINGREY: You know, maybe part of the problem is we need to go back into the schools at a very early age, maybe at the grade school level, and have a class for the young girls and have a class for the young boys and say, you know, this is what’s important. This is what a father does that is maybe a little different, maybe a little bit better than the talents that a mom has in a certain area. And the same thing for the young girls, that, you know, this is what a mom does, and this is what is important from the standpoint of that union which we call marriage.”
You know he's an ass by his words, but when comments and ratings are disabled on his YT vid, you know that he knows he's an ass as well.
The problem with these guys is that they simply cannot get it into their heads that being gay or lesbian is not a choice one makes but a natural-born tendency or orientation. They point to their Buy Bulls and say God said gay is bad, so that makes it so. Then they deny science (surprise, surprise!) showing that sexual orientation is at least in part innate. Acceptance of science would require them to doubt their God, since no good, omnipotent God would put people on earth, then condemn them to stoning as "abominations unto the Lord." Teaching sexual stereotypes to young children would cause incredible pain to those who know or suspect they are not entirely heterosexual, forcing them to hide their nature and deny themselves fulfillment as the people they are meant to be. It is not only foolish, it is, ironically, un-Christian. The hurt is entirely interior: wincing at homophobic jokes, weeping at being imprisoned in a false personality that cannot self-actualize, &c., but as we all know, mental pain is just as debilitating (if not more so) than physical pain. Now that Exodus and other behavior modification efforts have been thoroughly debunked, people like Gingrey seek a new tack. It amounts to saying, "Forget about re-orientation and rehabilitation, let's keep them from growing up gay in the first place." I simply despair of this kind of foolishness. It is ruining our children and our country. I know it will be fossilized in a few generations, but I am saddened at what it is doing to the ones now in being.
Well stated. His "reasoning" would create another generation of conservatives fools tapping their feet in airport bathroom stalls looking for a furtive blow job.
He's probably touching on Gender roles in christianity, but is too dumb to realize that even within christiandumb there are differing opinions.
