I wasn't being pedantic about the different pronunciations.

In most of the UK, we say Arse.

And if you Google the two terms you will see that Arse means a person's backside and Ass means a Donkey.

it's a Good job we are talking about on Freethought and Funny Bones because I can't believe it. Lol.

It always was ass as far as I know, but certain regional accents add an 'r' to some words like 'warsh' for wash. My late father-in-law pronounced it that way. I also heard arse from different people as a kid too.

But tell me, when did the word Arse morph into Ass. I always thought that an Ass was a donkey. Sorry for being so pedantic.
