We are a worldwide social network of freethinkers, atheists, agnostics and secular humanists.

It's been a bit over two weeks since the debacle at the Capitol happened, and I must confess that I was expecting Betty Bowers, America's Best Christian, to make herself heard on the topic a bit before now.  Have to say, though, the wait was worth it.  Mrs. Bowers holds forth on the topic with her usual panache and cutting invective.

But then, that's what she does most of the time, isn't it?  Mrs. Bowers, the floor is yours:

Have You Had YOUR Betty Today?

I love the Betty Bowers Vlogs so funny and inciteful.

Loren. Can you imagine the Republicans and the Christian right of doing what the Democrats are now doing of showing leniency to Trump and his family

However much "leniency" Trump & Co. get ... no, not much.  They would probably think that leniency shows weakness, and that's a no-no to them.

That said, the bunch of 'em deserve to have the book thrown at 'em for what they've done to this country ... because this COULD happen again, and an example has to be set.

Goes down great with my first coffee of the day!

She does these so well!

It must be an acquired taste.  For some reason her affect just rubs me the wrong way. Makes it hard to pay attention to what she is actually saying.   I guess it is tongue and cheek?

Yes, it's sarcastic comedy.

This is a brand of comedy which I am sometimes not 100% in line with, governed by a somewhat equally tongue-in-cheek "principle" known as Poe's Law.  In Ms. Bowers' case, rather than a "nod or a wink," we get an attitude which is so artificially imperious as to effectively be equivalent to the aforementioned indicators.

I should mention, too, that Betty Bowers has only recently entered the field of politics, predictably with the advent of Donald Trump.  Her previous work was almost entirely aimed at lampooning religious followers and practices, as well as their source material.  The following is among the first exposures I had to her work (actually, she's written by one Andrew Bradley), and I still get a kick out of it:

Good one.

Thanks!

To the point and spot on.

Even blind Freddie could see it but those who have an inferiority complex but think they are the superior lot can't see it and would call this a lie, fake as all christabell.

The comparison to our 9-11 reaction is hilarious. The gimmick called "Religious Freedom."
