GOP Overtly Turned Against the Will of the People

In actively trying to subvert the results of the election, the GOP has shown unapologetically that aside from power, what they want above all else is the ability to tax the American people without actually having to represent them. ... a dangerous…Continue

I absolutely cannot take Morphine, & I really have to emphasize that with every surgery I've had since the first terrible reaction I had....nausea, & a total blackout for 12 hours.

A couple of years ago, I don't remember just how long ago it was, I was given an Rx for OxyContin after some surgical procedure. I became sicker and sicker and performed a perfect projectile vomit over my daughter's dining room table at dinner. I ended up in the hospital for seven days as the doctors cleared out my digestive tract; I was told it was caused by the Rx. Many other drugs could have been used as a pain killer for me but the marketing for OxyContin was so effective, the doctors fell for the P.R. I understand doctors are more cautious now and inform their patients of possible side effects.

Absolutely, the Sacklers are not entitled to the profits off this risky drug.

"US states oppose ‘unjust’ plan to shield Sackler wealth in the opioid settlement!"

"Twenty-four states object to bankruptcy proposal for Sacklers to settle lawsuits by paying $4.3bn but family would keep about $7bn.

You're too kind, Joan! I think we sooner or later all come to a point in our lives when we can choose between being led by our elders or becoming our own master and suffering the consequent loneliness and rejection. And I pity the people who choose to be led...

Chris B., I wonder what your mother's environment was like as she developed into adulthood. She was trained to be a victim, as were so many women of her generation. " a total victim of husband, policy and religion that she would NEVER consider her own ideas."

My grandmothers' generation began the break from dependence on others because of the Great Depression, my mother was on the cusp because of WW II, when women were expected to leave their children in the care of others and worked at Kaiser Aluminum and other war industries. My generation is the benefactors of the struggles my grandmothers and mother endured.

We did not have bombs dropping around us and seeing people mangled and killed as the cities of Europe had. I don't know your mother, however, her formative years must have been crippling to her. Not everyone comes out of such trauma as the war years and those crazy times that followed.

Sadly, you and your brother experienced remnants of the old ways changing into very different ways of being, whether male or female. You impress me as a strong, wise woman who rose out of the rubble of war's aftermath, much as a phoenix rose out of the fire in the fable.

Yes, & today, Rick read that in Texas now, people can buy guns without licensing them, & carry them concealed.

Comment was by Stephen Brodie on May 25, 2021 at 7:42pm

It's odd though isn't it. Britain, Australia, Canada outrage and political action has had an effect. In the USA Nada zilch.

Comment was by Mrs.B on May 25, 2021 at 6:51pm

It's been too many....it's become meaningless. Outrage has accomplished nothing, so why bother....it's become.....meh......

Comment was by Stephen Brodie on May 25, 2021 at 6:49pm

What I can't understand is where is the outrage or the demands for stricter gun control. Just baffling.
