You have a talent for understatement, Onyango. I am continually astonished at the obsession some people have for such weapons, and their utter determination not to be deprived of their ability to acquire MORE of them, regardless of the situation on the ground.
Is it true that the US also has a mental health problem? Is it true that we prioritize physical health over mental health and that mental health is a contributing factor to the incidents we see repeatedly in the US? Absolutely. HOWEVER, I doubt that the general mental health of US citizens is all that much different from the rest of the developed world.
The different, put in blunt language, is GUNS and the entirely too facile and easy access to them. So long as that availability maintains, so will the mass shootings ... PERIOD.
