Personally, I think this whole roll out is very poorly organized. They are so anxious to get vaccines into arms, that things are getting royally screwed up.....second doses not on time, running out, haphazard deliveries, bits here, bits there.

After checking with my GP I was told I would probably be told about my jab at the end of this week. I hope I do. There are rumours abound that many of the Pfizer vaccines are being wasted because after a day of injections some vaccines are leftover and because they can't store them overnight they rush around trying to offer them to any surgery that can take them, sadly this often fails and they are wasted.

This is one thing that needs to go smoothly, & we have delays on getting ours too.

EU health commissioner dismisses AstraZeneca argument it is contractually obliged to supply UK first

Britain is on a collision course with the European Union over vaccine shortages after Brussels refused to accept that people in the UK have first claim on Oxford/AstraZeneca doses produced in local plants.

The EU’s health commissioner outright dismissed on Wednesday an argument made by Pascal Soriot, the Anglo-Swedish company’s chief executive, that he was contractually obliged to supply the UK first.

In a withering statement, Stella Kyriakides said the UK should not earn any advantage from signing a contract with AstraZeneca three months before the EU’s executive branch put pen to paper.  “We reject the logic of first come, first served,” the commissioner said. “That may work in a butcher’s shop but not in contracts and not in our advanced purchase agreements.”

Doone. As a person who voted to remain in the EU, I'm not at all surprised that it's beginning to have harmful results. Even now when we remind everyone of the dire consequences the Brexiteers call us remoaners. Both with Brexit and Boris's handling of the pandemic it couldn't have been worse.

Now I understand how it felt for you Americans with Trump in office and the world laughing at you. Boris is making us look ridiculous.

That's very sad I enjoyed watching Mira Furlan in Babylon 5. A very underestimated TV series.
