Highlights of Cassidy Hutchinson's Testimony to Jan 6th Committee
The House Select Committee on the January 6th Insurrection continues to reveal all manner of amazing details regarding the behavior both of Donald Trump and his subordinates in the time before and during January 6, 2021. They include:
- Donald Trump tried to grab the steering wheel of The Beast and attempted to assault one Secret Service agent when told they were going back to the West Wing and NOT to the Capitol.
- She confirmed that Trump thought that Mike Pence "deserved it," in re: the calls for his hanging.
- Mark Meadows barely reacted when it was suggested by other White House staff that Jan 6th could be "very bad." He also initially was part of the "Deny and Deflect" group advising the president regarding a statement given by Trump on Jan 7th.
Oh ... and THIS little matter:
To call these hearings "explosive" is to devalue the power of TNT, and Ms. Hutchinson has been a brave and well-spoken standout in them.
