Exactly the same here, Kurt. We've had several disastrous fire seasons, as well as floods.....no better responses.

Ian what you are witnessing is the reasons why cultures that form civilisations based upon Inequality supported by privileges and entitlements fail and fall in to sands of time.
Just wondering how much time is left for this global civilisation before it to falls in to the sands of time.

Maybe half generation or may hap a generation only time will answer that question.

Extreme weather but mediocre government and inadequate responses. Nobody wants to be bold, except when it comes to cutting taxation on the richest. Every bloody politician is falling over their selves to do that.

Summer in Australia is going to be fun. extreme firestorms and flooding has been forecast  for this coming summer. The last fires left lush forests looking like the moon. However nature is resilient and is bouncing back, but another extremely hot summer???

Although there was  an unprecedented amount of money,  from donations, raised  for the victims of the fires, 2 years on and infrastructure, equipment and personnel  are still caught up in red tape, politics and government crying poor.

Some areas have been well looked after, but there are a some areas still where people live in tents and cars

The same is true for the victims of this years floods, just as devastating as the fires. The same problems with a government, red tape and politics.

Equipment & the personnel to run it.

Comment was by Chris B 17 hours ago

Yes, but your enormous country is harder to monitor, I'd think, and to get the equipment and people where they need to be is also harder.

But we're loaded with lakes & rivers.

Comment was by Chris B 17 hours ago

This is a small country with plenty of open water, so fires are much easier to contain. Canada fires are real disasters.

Comment was by Mrs.B 18 hours ago

A worry, nonetheless.

Correction: the rain MIGHT start today, in some places, perhaps. Temps at 30c again might start something happening, or not depending on how the wind blows. Fortunately no fires. The heathland sometimes burns here but not much else.
