Be careful Davy, stay safe!

Well Stephen if they don't do nothing now like they did in '39 then that is very much a likely scenario.
But if your cowardly politicians grew a backbone and began hooking in and helping Ukraine in which does not necessarily need to involve troops but helping them with locating the enemy so that they can be easily nuetralised quicker plus giving them the necessary air defence missiles  with a an increase of troops on the border in battle formation taking a threatening stance just like Herr Putler did prior to his invasion may well be enough for Herr Putler to have second thoughts so desist and remove his troops from Ukraine and hopefully all of Ukraine.
The only thing a bully understands is force and by showing that you have a force slightly better means of force than them gives them food for thought.
With the possible scenario as they leave they take up the positions vacated by them thus making it difficult for him to reverse his orders and recommence hostilities.  Because the minute he does so he attacks their troops who are just ensuring Ukrainians Security and Integrity of Ukraine's borders as per the Budapest Memorandum guarantees.

I hope for all our sakes that you are wrong about that oafs move into Poland.

At your second point remember what Herr Hitler did in '38-'39.
He did not stop either and now he sees how cowardly the EU is he may well decide to rope Poland or another of the former satellites of the former CCCP seeing that they didn't do anything to stop in Ukraine.

Well the crap is beginning to hit the fan here.
Me and the missus have gotten what is essential in the way of documents and into the bug out bag. just have to tidy up some things and get  the laptop ready to go in my back pack
It really started and in someways luck other history would now be different. When the UK, America and Russia coerced Ukraine to give up the worlds third largest nuclear arsenal in return for a guarantee that they will help in maintaining Ukraine's security and the integrity of her borders and so they all signed the Budapest Memorandum which as to-days invasion of Ukraine by one these guarantors of her Security and and Integrity of her borders.   With the other two basically doing jack shit about it.
So much for the memorandum just another piece of toilet paper for all its worth but it also show their diplomatic integrity is down the sewer for they never back up their big words with action when their words call for it.
But as the Amerindians say about Europeans  "They speak with forked tongue. "
Enjoy the fruits of the war for no one ever wins a war for wars sow distrust amongst the combatants and fear elsewhere.

Same feeling here. Loren. I'm not going to blame anyone for this, because I think no one has clean hands in this business. But I expect nothing good.

Comment was by Loren Miller on February 24, 2022 at 8:06am

[Loren shakes his head and sighs from somewhere south of his gut] Well ... Putin went and did it, didn't he?  Someone please tell me why I get the feeling that this Ukraine business has the potential to get ugly as hell ... because I can't escape the sense that 1) it will and 2) that it won't stop at Kyiv.
