Homophobia is for the ones who want everybody the same as themselves, in other words, the religious and the fearful. I don't know what they're afraid of, perhaps they think that we might disrupt their orderly lives? Or do unspeakable things to their family? Luca and I often get the extra look when people understand that we're not only friends but partners, but people don't trouble us.

And the news of the week: After 19 months on the waiting list Luca gets her bottom surgery in September!

Stephen, the "public lavatories, like this one in Pond Square, Camden, London," is charming! It looks like a nice place to have a little tea party. Well, looks can be deceiving, can't they!

If a culture disowns or criminalizes a segment of society that exists as a natural being, i.e. brown eyes, black hair, short stature, of Japanese heritage, and homosexual, how can any one of these attributes be a crime? Such prejudgment becomes a crime, in my opinion.

During WW II, people of Japanese or German heritage often experienced discrimination, not because they were inferior or guilty but because they were different than the white population and suspected of being an enemy.

What is homophobia about, anyway?

Are people afraid of those who are homosexual?

Are such prejudices because those who are of the heterosexual orientation fear they are homosexual?

Is sexuality anyone's business, unless, of course, the homosexual or heterosexual thinks and acts like a  predator or manipulator.

Yes, our kitties were not happy with our last storm either.

A pigeon sheltering from the rain on my balcony. It doesn't seem to care about me being there but the last thunderclap almost frightened the life out of it.

We've had rain, thunder and lightning in DK today but nothing as severe. Stay safe, everybody.

It keeps you constantly on alert, very bad! And the London weather!

Oh crap! So many apartment fires are started by bbq's, so there's a good reason to ban them!!!!

We smell smoke all the time, & even though we know it's from the fires, we're still checking around the house. It's a horrid feeling!

Comment was by Stephen Brodie on July 25, 2021 at 9:43pm

No thankfully. Last night there was a terrible smell of smoke wafting through the building and you know how fearful everyone is about another tower block blaze. The concierge discovered that a family from Iraq had started a BAR-B-Q on the balcony even though they had been warned against having a BAR-B-Q how utterly stupid.

Comment was by Mrs.B on July 25, 2021 at 8:10pm

Ok, so your lobby etc., is not likely to flood then.

Comment was by Stephen Brodie on July 25, 2021 at 8:05pm

If you remember Abbey Road is nearly at the top of the hill(St. Johns Wood) and Maida Vale is about halfway down so the flood water passes by us and carries on down to Chippenham.

The red circle is where my building is. Not only is my flat on the 14th floor but the building is above the flood water
