I adored Jonny Quest! I don't think it was racist, but I could be wrong. Hadji, Jonny's best friend and sidekick, was not subservient to him, he was his adoptive brother; he had cool "powers" such as hypnotism, etc. Dr. Quest had adopted him. I loved the scientist dad! And Bandit! It brings back great memories. I should buy the DVDs.

There used to be a cartoon about India when I was a kid that you probably saw too called Jonny Quest.  That didn't seem racist to me, but the indians were subservient to the english so it did promote caste system.

We used to eat at Sambo's when I was a kid. I recall this logo now that I see it, but I thought it was a little black man with a spear, not a Persian.

Interesting adds. I used google images to look up Sambo's adds. Sambo's is now Denny's restaurants and this link to white pride came up. My norton security software gave me a warning - so view with caution.

Oh, I see. Yeah, that makes sense.

We were talking about racism in the gay community on another site, and I was looking through google.com/images for racist Chinese ads, and then racist ads, and then sexist ads, and somehow I ran across this in the mix.

You want to see some wierd stuff, do what I did. Go to google.com/images and type in "vintage racist ads" or "sexist ads." It'll make your eyes roll.

Reading about "hidden mother" photos, the thought is that it is supposed to be a photo of the children. Women covered themselves so that the photo could be cropped. Mom could keep the baby happy.

Bull, I'm with A on this one. =)
