Brian Keith Dalton, a.k.a. "Mr. Deity," has been taking William Lane Craig to task lately for his lazy and generally not-horribly-thoughtful take on why belief in Yahweh is so essential to him and how wonderful it must all be to have the supposed…Continue

It's just a temporal coincident, but the passing of Elizabeth II will someday be seen, I believe, as also marking the end of an era, not just for Britain, but for the West. Since the end of WWII, we have lived through a Golden Age. Now it's almost over.

A very intelligent and perceptive comment on the whole subject of her passing, and of prospects for King Charles III, can be found here: https://twilightpatriot.substack.com/p/on-the-demise-of-the-british...

Atheists should remember that the first Charles was beheaded by Puritans, people who "humbled themselves in the dust before their God, the better to set their foot on the neck of their King." (MacCaulay). The religious skeptics at the time were among the sophisticated aristos on the other side.  Religion does not always play a reactionary role in history.

The beheading of King Charles. Oh happy days

Comment was by Doone on September 9, 2022 at 5:26pm

Yes, the first Charles did not have a happy end to his reign.
