Is anyone else having trouble getting into their Yahoo email?

Q: In the Star Wars movies, why do we get to see only one Death Star at a time?

A: While it's true Death Stars are highly destructive weapons, their main use is psychological: they're meant to intimidate rather than annihilate. And while two Death Stars would br twice as lethal, the fear factor would be greatly diminished if they were used in pairs. Think about it: everyone is supposed to wet their underwear when they hear 'Death Star', but 'Boobs of Doom'... seriously?

      Bagpipes at a funeral

Recently, I was asked by a funeral director to play at a graveside service for a homeless man.  He had no family or friends, so the service was to be at a pauper's cemetery in the Kentucky back country.

As I was not familiar with the backwoods, I got lost and, being a typical man, I didn't stop for directions.

I finally arrived an hour late and saw the funeral guy had evidently gone and the hearse was nowhere in sight.  There were only the diggers and crews left and they were eating lunch.

I felt badly and apologized to the men for being late.  I went to the side of the grave and looked down and the vault lid was already in place.  I didn't know what else to do, so I started to play.

The workers put down their lunch and began to gather around.  I played out of my heart and soul for this man with no family and friends.  I played like I've never played before for this homeless man.

And as I played 'Amazing Grace' we all wept together.  When I finished I packed up my bagpipes and started for my car.  Though my head hung low, my heart was full.

As I opened the door to my car, I heard one of the workers, "I never seen nothin'like that before and I've been putting in septic tanks for twenty years".

Apparently I'm still lost... it's a man thing.

Thanks, Hope! The translation makes it even better. It was the UAE's 6th goal! Wow!

Comment was by Hope on July 20, 2011 at 6:39pm

The translation :)

Allah, the 6th emirati goal... In a beautiful way and in a strange and wonderful way, this was kinda of exaggerated! this penalty goal was very strange and beautiful at the same time,

Let's see again together....look ..look..even the goalkeeper was very surprised, this goal reminds me of the lebanese singer Sabah when she was singing Ya dala dalla "o you spoiled be more spoiled"

very nice!

BTW, the player was from UAE and the penalty he executed was against Lebanon (link); it was a friendly match, not for any championship or qualifiers.

I'm counting on Hope to translate what the sportscasters are saying. This guy executed a penalty kick with his heel, and SCORED! But now he is facing sanctions for his conduct. LOLZ. I know at least Jaume will enjoy this video. For the Americans: soccer is the sport where you cannot touch the ball with your hands unless you are the goalie; it is actually called football everywhere else in the world, and the players are normal size, not refrigerator-sized :-)
