What an awful situation. I hope you can continue to stay safe.

Yes, they're on their way now.

More rain in the forecast.

News is on right now, Ian, & things are no better so far. So many farms have lost their livestock, & there are rescues going on for the ones still alive, but getting food & clean water for them & the residents too is difficult. Food that was coming in was lost in the flooding, so it's still damn grim.

Just read that the military will be sent to help with evacuations and to bring in food.

Has there been any news about when the waters will go down, Mrs B?

The situation has become an item not only in British newspapers but also on Danish radio.

Rick just got back from town 10 minutes ago, & there is no fruit, vegetables, or dairy on any shelf.

Trucking industry working to get around catastrophic B.C. highway c...

The 4 highway links between the Lower Mainland and B.C.'s Interior are closed, rattling supply chains

Larry Stefaniuk was hauling about $50,000 worth of ground fish from Vancouver Island to a pet food processing plant in Edmonton on Sunday night when he came upon one of the landslides blocking Highway 7 in Agassiz, B.C.

Stefaniuk was among the first to arrive at the slide in the dark, torrential rain. He was forced to leave his truck on the road and find shelter. On Tuesday, it was still on the road.

The clock is ticking for his perishable load. It has a shelf life of about six days, and he didn't start hauling it until two days after it was ground. That leaves Stefaniuk with only two days before it has to get to the plant to avoid a total waste, he says.........more..........

I haven't been shopping for a week or so, & will need fresh produce soon, but we may be living on frozen & canned goods until something gets opened up. Sounds like things may need re-routing through Alberta.
