Brian Keith Dalton, a.k.a. "Mr. Deity," has been taking William Lane Craig to task lately for his lazy and generally not-horribly-thoughtful take on why belief in Yahweh is so essential to him and how wonderful it must all be to have the supposed…Continue

Lately it occurs to me What a long, strange trip it's been. -- The Grateful Dead, "Truckin'" And that "long, strange trip" has gotten positively rocky, particularly in the last 40 years, under the influence of Reagan, both Bushes, and of course,…Continue

Who can get through a day of the 2016 presidential campaign and not think of this? Here's part of how my mom did it in the late 1930s and the 1940s. I didn't know what she had in mind when she raised us as if there was no such thing as boys' work or…Continue

Nice Comment
Not when the others are taking over dominance.
Ian that's got to be good news
Islam rose from 4% to 8% since 2001. Islam's rise was mainly due to immigration and not conversions. Judaism and Hinduism had a much smaller rise. The biggest rise was with the bones.
And the whining goes on.....
The problem with Xtianity becoming a minority religion is that it's not because religion is fading away but that other religions are moving in. SOME people in SOME of those religions are fanatics and dangerous. How long before there are Hindu-Muslim conflicts in Britain, just as one example? The C of E in recent years has moved away from being a propaganda arm of the established order to being a sort of slightly holy boy scout troop. Thunder is no longer heard from the pulpit. It's still heard in SOME mosques and temples though, preaching world domination, death to the unbeliever and all kinds of mediaeval shit.
Nice video, Stephen, thanks!
Good to hear from you here, Joan. Your cognitive abilities are still largely intact. It's your short-term memory and balance that are affected, isn't it? I think you've written before that living with your family helps but you struggle to remember their names. Very irritating for you but they cope with it.
