Brian Keith Dalton, a.k.a. "Mr. Deity," has been taking William Lane Craig to task lately for his lazy and generally not-horribly-thoughtful take on why belief in Yahweh is so essential to him and how wonderful it must all be to have the supposed…Continue

Lately it occurs to me What a long, strange trip it's been. -- The Grateful Dead, "Truckin'" And that "long, strange trip" has gotten positively rocky, particularly in the last 40 years, under the influence of Reagan, both Bushes, and of course,…Continue

Who can get through a day of the 2016 presidential campaign and not think of this? Here's part of how my mom did it in the late 1930s and the 1940s. I didn't know what she had in mind when she raised us as if there was no such thing as boys' work or…Continue

Nice Comment
I'll second Randall's sentiments wholeheartedly, Joan. It's always grand to hear from you, and I hope all's well with you and yours.
It's always nice to hear from you, Joan, knowing you're still around and hopefully doing well. Several years ago, you indicated you were dealing with the onset of dementia. From reading your comments, I don't see anything resembling your condition. So, what's the latest assessment?
Thanks, Joan, & yes, I do find a bit of ease with my online friends. Many thanks to them all.
Thank you, Doone.
Pat, I am very sorry to learn of the death of Rick. Your long 56 years together must leave you with many happy memories upon which you can draw. Thankfully, your children may help make the transitions facing you. A "peaceful" death is the best one can hope for. Having many virtual friends on the internet may provide comfort during quiet hours.
I am sorry for your loss Mrs B - my condolences.
Thank you....I feel very lost for now.
Wow, Pat. I don't want to guess how that hurts. Condolences on your loss.
A real loss for you, Patricia. After so many years there must be an empty space in your life now and it hurts. No platitudes can fill that or numb the pain. I hope you can find some comfort in family and friends to help you through.
Mrs. B: I'm so sorry, not to mention shocked, to read of the death (not "passing") of Rick. Perhaps I missed something along the way, but this comes as quite a surprise. May peace and comfort be with you.
