Yes, but your enormous country is harder to monitor, I'd think, and to get the equipment and people where they need to be is also harder.

But we're loaded with lakes & rivers.

This is a small country with plenty of open water, so fires are much easier to contain. Canada fires are real disasters.

Comment was by Mrs.B on August 15, 2022 at 1:43am

A worry, nonetheless.

Comment was by Ian Mason on August 15, 2022 at 1:41am

Correction: the rain MIGHT start today, in some places, perhaps. Temps at 30c again might start something happening, or not depending on how the wind blows. Fortunately no fires. The heathland sometimes burns here but not much else.

Comment was by Mrs.B on August 15, 2022 at 1:39am

Big, small or otherwise, fires are frightening.

Comment was by Chris B on August 15, 2022 at 1:32am

The first drop of rain has yet to fall, but the clouds look nice. Fires are going on but not on a big scale.

Comment was by Mrs.B on August 15, 2022 at 1:30am

How is your fire situation there?

Comment was by Stephen Brodie on August 15, 2022 at 1:28am

We are due some thunder and lightning with perhaps some heavy showers by Wednesday.

Comment was by Ian Mason on August 15, 2022 at 12:58am

Long may it rain, Chris. We're due to get some in DK about Thursday.
