Davy the sad thing about England and I say England rather than the UK is that we are a cap doffing forelock-tugging people. I don't know what I want to do most cry or be sick. The thing about me and a growing number of people in England is that we refuse to show reverence to anyone just because of their perceived rank.

While ever we have the structure of Society that we have you will never change it for it suits those in the upper echelons of your Society.
The problem with the structure is that it is not amenable to change because The majority of the people are excluded from any process to change it as it is controlled by the upper upper echelons. They do not want any changes as the changes that are required to alter the behaviour of the of the Society in the whole as their behaviour is a product of their privileges and entitlements that they grant themselves. Their behaviour is just a reflection of the sum total of the behaviour of the population. 
It lies just below the surface of the everyday people who would given half the chance would also exhibit that behaviour.

The only way that we will begin to change our Society to a better Society where Integrity, Honesty and decent behaviour begins with yourself.
It begins when you reclaim  your Sovereign power that lies within yourself.
Alfred Tennyson put it quite well in his poem Idylls of the Kings

With the law here being rules that you help to create boundaries for your and other's behaviour so that you and others can live in peace and harmony with each other.

Chris, I'm appalled by this behaviour and these attitudes too but I'm afraid I'm not shocked. It's always been there but been hidden; now the masks are off and things are made public. The real shock is how little people care. They just shrug their shoulders and say 'so what?'.

I am shocked, not just by inappropiate behaviour, but by the total want of responsible governing, by the self serving actions, by the high handed exclusive work that leaves so many people on their own without any help. I'm shocked by the divisions made in society, isolating helpless people. I'm shocked by the 'them and us' thinking. And it's not just the UK, I see it spreading everywhere.
