Ian I'm old enough to remember the change over from what they oddly called town gas to Natural gas which entailed altering some parts in everyone's gas cookers. Also, there were many gasometers dotted all over London holding coal gas that was then pumped to everyone's home. I wonder what will happen when the natural gas begins to run out. I doubt we will go back to making coal gas.

Silly people. Nobody gives money away so it's important not to waste it. I'm more aware of that now on my limited income. I try to be economical with heating but it's true that you feel the cold more as you get older. The damp kind of cold is particularly uncomfortable.I imagine that NL like DK gets a lot of cold wind from the sea. Exercise, hot food and hot tea help though.

That could well be, and I hope good changes. I hope it stops the earthquakes in the north of this country. I expect energy prices will get higher very soon so we started all over again to use the absolute minimum - in the autumn it's not difficult to get used to lower temperatures. We seem to be the exceptions though; I notice many people in tshirts, heating on full and the windows open. They just don't know how to save money.

Have had many bruised toes like that Ian, & know exactly what it feels like.

Comment was by Ian Mason on October 26, 2021 at 8:31am

Nasty, Randall. Those kind of scrapes can bleed a lot. Have you had a tetanus booster?

The few hundred metres to the library and back is about all I've managed. The toe is rather tender to the touch and throbs a bit so feet up is best.

Comment was by Randall Smith on October 26, 2021 at 7:58am

Ouch! Hope you can walk without pain. I'm lifting some weights today and hope to avert a similar accident.

I did, however, trip and scrape my arm the other day while cutting firewood. I was a bloody mess. Real blood, not the British use of the word!
