Who can get through a day of the 2016 presidential campaign and not think of this? Here's part of how my mom did it in the late 1930s and the 1940s. I didn't know what she had in mind when she raised us as if there was no such thing as boys' work or…Continue

That could well be, and I hope good changes. I hope it stops the earthquakes in the north of this country. I expect energy prices will get higher very soon so we started all over again to use the absolute minimum - in the autumn it's not difficult to get used to lower temperatures. We seem to be the exceptions though; I notice many people in tshirts, heating on full and the windows open. They just don't know how to save money.

Small but welcome steps. Will this mean changes for you, Chris? https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20211025-netherlands-the-end-of-...

Have had many bruised toes like that Ian, & know exactly what it feels like.

Comment was by Ian Mason on October 26, 2021 at 8:31am

Nasty, Randall. Those kind of scrapes can bleed a lot. Have you had a tetanus booster?

The few hundred metres to the library and back is about all I've managed. The toe is rather tender to the touch and throbs a bit so feet up is best.

Ouch! Hope you can walk without pain. I'm lifting some weights today and hope to avert a similar accident.

I did, however, trip and scrape my arm the other day while cutting firewood. I was a bloody mess. Real blood, not the British use of the word!

I don't think so, Chris. Just a very bad bruise.

I hope nothing broken, Ian!

Over 25 years of training at the gym and had my first accident yesterday. Dropped a dumbbell on my foot. Luckily the gym's first-aid kit had an icepack so the worst was averted. Still sore though.

This little piggy...

Some old series seem to have an extra sparkle because of the fun people had in the making.
